In 2003 we released the world’s first safe, non-conductive, non-toxic computer coolant avaible for the water cooled computer industry.  Now there are so many other companies making coolants because they saw that we were right in replacing water in these systems.

So with so many different coolants available what makes our products the choice for more individuals and companies around the world than all the others?  Well for starters, Fluid  XP+ is the only one that has any scientific documentation backing its claims not by just one but two governmental accredited independent labs.  Ours is the only one that has actually been tested according to ASTM procedures for non-conductivity and the results are public domain.

Our coolants are the only ones that are triple filtrated before they reach your bottle and eventually that expensive rig that you have made.  Our coolants are made in the USA and are quality controlled according to federal regulations, we don’t here anyone else making this claim either.

There is a reason why out of the top 5 finalists in the CPU Magazine’s best rig award that they all used Fluid XP+.

The other coolant companies always like to say they are better than Fluid XP+ but none have shown one real shred of scientific documentation to prove it.  Their best marketing efforts is to copy even our terminology and names and say that they are better because they are cheaper, I guess they feel that there must be no reason why a Rolls Royce cost more than a Chevy.

If price is the only reason of why you purchase a coolant for your computer then we suggest you just stick with good old water but if you want the best proven protection and the safest then use the “Rolls Royce” of coolants, Fluid XP+.

Because it is so much more efficient than the typical fluid blends presently being used in the fluid cooled computer world today. It will give you a piece of mind that you are protecting your valuable system from possible damage due to highly conductive mixtures that are “accepted” in the computer cooling world. Water-Wetter, Anti-freeze products, Windshield Washer Fluids and the like all contain ingredients that are harmful to systems in one way or another. They contain phosphates (Breaks down adhesives), salts (Electrically conductive), methyl alcohol (Flammable), Dipotassium phosphate (Toxic)

In fact, here is a list of ingredients of another product that is being offered to the unsuspecting water cooling enthusiasts, which as you will see from the list contains some really bad stuff for humans and the environment.

There is nothing safer to use in water cooling than Fluid XP+ and we can prove it.

One of the coolants out there is MCT and here are some of the ingredients: Ethylene Glycol is one of them and it is considered one of the worst poisons available. It can even cause death if swallowed. It targets organs: Respiratory system, Liver, Kidneys, Central nervous system, Gastrointestinal tract etc.. Sodium Nitrate: Toxic when swallowed, Boric Acid Salt Tetrahydrate: severe irritant to eyes and respiratory to name a few of the ingredient.

Unfortunately, we cannot control the type coolants out there and what they put in them, one day maybe they will control this like they do in other industries.  Until then Fluid XP+ will continue to be the leader and innovator to bring proven, tested and safe products to the water cooled computer industry.

The conduction coefficient of Fluid XP is 3.7 Btu-in/hr-ft2-Deg. F while water conduction coefficient is 4.2 Btu-in/hr-ft2-Deg. F. It is roughly 89% as effective as water. This comes out to a 2-3? difference in performance. Water is used as a reference point for all coolants. The benefits of Fluid XP over plain water are such that while water will damage your system if spilled on it Fluid XP will have no detrimental effects on your system.

No. It will actually help you water pumps because part of the make up of Fluid XP is a Glycerin product that will lubricate all plastic parts in your system.

Conductivity is measured as a percentage of coppers ability to move electrons. The electrical conductivity of Fluid XP is 12 MicroSiemens/cm. This equates to 0.000011 Mho/cm. Copper?s electrical conductivity is 580,000 Mho/cm so Fluid XP electrical conductivity is 0.000011/580,000 = .000000000131% of copper. Essentially zero.

Another product is on the market saying that it is non-conductive as well but an independent lab test shows that it is rated at 13,000 microsiemens and is actually tested at over a 1,000 times more conductive than water. Don’t be fooled, make sure you get all the facts before you just put any old liquid into your water cooled pc.

Fluid XP is a patent pending mixture of Propylene glycol, De-ionized water, Glycerin, Keltrol, Benzotriazole and some other proprietary ingredients that are all considered to be food safe ingredients as recognized by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Yes, as long as the dye is non-conductive. If it is conductive then it will render the safety of Fluid XP useless.

What happens when there is that one oops? Is it safe to say that you will ALWAYS use care when filling your system. Maybe you”ll sneeze and spill fluid over your motherboard or all down the back of you case. Isn’t it safer to be sure than sorry?  I mean after all, we all buy car insurance don’t we?  We try to drive as safe as possible but what happens when that unforseen situation places you in the middle of an accident?  You will be glad that you had that added protection, won’t you?

Fluid XP has a 5+ year shelf life but because of the fact that almost all of the tubing used in water cooled computers has some evaporation (due to the fact of the micro pores in flexible tubing), you may need to add a little after two years. This of course depends on how big a reserve you have.

Our ingredients in the coolant slow down the evaporation prcess but do not completely stop it. We recommend that it should be checked from time to time just to be safe. Under normal use the coolant should not have to be completely drained out and replaced for at least 5 years.

No need. All ingredients in Fluid XP+ are considered food safe ingredients as recognized the the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

With the introduction of our newest Nano-Fluid coolant there are all sorts of applicable possibilities.  Nano is already being used in a hydrogen fuel cell where the electrical conductivity and amount of corrosion are so very important.  No other non-toxic fluid has been successfully used in a hydrogen fuel cell to date.  So if you are looking for the ultimate product then Nano is your choice, nothing else like it on the planet.

The most outrageous test we have performed for Fluid XP was we took a motherboard and submerged half of it in a Tupper wear tray and the motherboard ran for 6 hours before the test was stopped. The GM of the company even stuck his hands in it before a crowd at the Pomona Computer Expo to show its non-conductivity. He also ingested (not recommended) some to show how safe it was, he is pretty nuts though and he is still alive!

Recently, we had a customer that got a new water block and wanted to install it so he drained out his Fluid XP+ into a bowl while he changed out the block. His pet cat came along and while he was not paying attention had itself a nice little drink of the coolant. It is great to say that the cat is still alive today and has had no ill effects from his little snack of Fluid XP+.

Something to think about, just imagine if that had been your pet or even a little child and it wasn’t Fluid XP+ but product M! Not a very nice picture.

At the temperature of 20?C its viscosity is 4.37 centistokes and 2.5 centistokes at 40?C

NO

No. Clean it up as if it was a glass of water. Just ask Rob Van Dam, it cleaned up just like water when his computer leaked.

es, at -11 degrees F. However, after it is frozen and then thaws out it has not changed in its properties.

No. Fluid XP+ coolant is ready to use without additional mixing.

Yes. Since it is biodegradable and all edible you can throw it away down the sink without any ill effects.

Two things: 1. Don’t worry it won’t blind you and 2. Run some water through your eye to help dissipate the fluid quicker than your tears will alone. There might be some discomfort due to a foreign chemical in your eye but there will be no long-term negative effects to it.

Yes, here is a list of some of the results of independent lab tests.

Fluid XP+ has a tailored property to minimize evaporation of the fluid by using a small amount of 1-Deodeconol to create a very thin pseudo-plastic layer on top of the fluid in the reservoir to slow evaporation. The 1-dodeconol has unique properties in that one end of the molecule attaches to water and the other end is hydrophobic so it orientates itself side by side to create this layer of material. The 1-dodeconol also works to reduce vapor passing through the walls of tubing by creating a “Skin” on the fluid as it passes through the tubing blocking the pours in the tubing.

When Fluid XP+ was compared to other liquids used to cool computers it was 235 times less conductive than the least conductive fluid used in computer cooling, which was Anti-Freeze/Water at a 50/50 mix. Koolance’s (A brand name company) computer cooling fluid was 730 times more conductive than Fluid XP+.

Since we first answered this question many things have happened and now we can answer this better than ever. We decided because now there are some of the major retailers like Danger Den, Tiger Direct and Directron selling MCT 40 to end users, without maybe the real knowledge of what they are buying, that we would now go into documented facts about the differences between their product and ours.

It is really unfortunate that this industry is not regulated better to protect the consumer from possible harmful products, especially, when many of these end users that are now working with water cooling are under the age of 18. Not to get on our soapbox but it just goes to show how many people will believe anything that they are told. I guess that is why several years ago, Jim Jones was able to lead over 900 people to commit suicide.

Fluid XP+ has extensive independent lab tests backing all of its claims and has the lowest level of conductivity of any product available. There are no dangerous ingredients in Fluid XP+ which has all been documented. You can read about it in the above articles. You may also request lab test documentation and a MSDS from us.

Independent lab tests have shown that MCT, has what is considered by meaurement of conductivity a level which is considered VERY CONDUCTIVE, the sample tested was MCT 40 and had a tested level of 13,600 microsiemens (the spec of how labs test for non-conductivity) and so much ethylene glycol (used in automotive antifreeze) that it had to be greatly diluted, just to perform the test. This document can be obtained upon request. There has been to our knowledge no other tests that have shown to dispute this fact.

According to their very own documentation, MCT contains some of the most poisonous chemicals and substrates available, here is what they say it has from their very own Material Safety Data Sheet:

Ingredients:
Ethylene Glycol
Sodium Nitrate: oxidizer; toxic (by ingestion); irritant; potential blood toxin
Boric Acid Sodium Salt Tetrahydrate: Potential irritant (eyes and respiratory)
2-Mercaptobenzothiaxole: irritant; potential sensitizer
Di Isopropyl Alcohol Ether
Tri Isopropyl Alcohol DiEther
Sodium Molybdate
Tolyitriazole
Polysiloxane Polymer

Fluid XP+ has over a 5+ year shelf life and has no flashpoint to start a fire. It is safe to use for anyone and you don’t have to take our word for it because it is totally documented.

This is a pioneered product that was years in the making by a retired Nasa scientist with a lot of credentials, unfortunately it looks like some companies have come up with something that sort of looks the same and people are believing what sales people and review sites tell them and not what the facts are. These are just a few of the differences in products. There is nothing else that compares with Fluid XP+ in the world. Fluid XP+ is second to none in overall value.

Like a wise man once said “you get what you pay for”.

The motherboard would be completely submerged in the coolant in an airtight plexi case. Also would it be safe to put the power supply in the coolant, or is Fluid XP+ not suited for this aplication? Our coolants were not made to immerse items in, they were developed to give as much assurance and safety possible for the average user. There are many factors to consider when you are going to do complete immersion of any subtance or material into a liquid, especially if it involves electronic circuits and microchips. You should proceed with caution as you try different things, we cannot recommend that you use our coolant in this application. To do so will be at your own risk. You might want to check into 3M’s product HFE7100, it is expensive and ether based (take cautions), I know that some industries use it to clean live boards. Hope this info helps.

In examining several Koolance systems we found the equipment very inferior to other systems out there. We know one Koolance dealer that had over 15 of their reservoir units leak when using their coolant.

Many in the industry feel that this is because of the quality of plastic that they have used. It was also found that many of the radiators may have not been properly cleaned and had chemical deposits inside. It is our feeling and findings that because most of their systems were low-flow or restrictive flow, our coolant because of its viscosity would dislodge the sediment flakes in the radiator and then allow them to flow through the system.

What we saw happen on a couple of 650-BU’s was the debris (looks like white plastic flakes) would then lodge in between the crevices found in their cpu and gpu coolers because the flow was not great enough to push them through. This did not happen with a lot of them but based on what we have tested, their quality control may need some adjusting.

It is our opionion that any liquid that was heavier than water may even cause the same problem. We have seen their blue coolant also have this same problem but was not as easily detected because of the color. We did contact Tim at Koolance to try and get our coolant officially approved by them but they said it would have to go through months of research.

We asked them if they had anyone on their staff which was a retired Nasa scientist. We do not recommend using anything heavier than water in an older Koolance system unless it is thourghougly purged. This of course is one of the reasons why we decided to design our own equipment.

If you do use a Koolance with water and their is spots inside the radiator then you will have the corrosion problem, we have actually seen a radiator of theirs (low quality) corroded on the inside in less than 6 months.

We hope that their new line of very expensive systems have corrected a lot of these problems, only time will tell. We haven’t seen to much scientific data on their coolant or any of their other products, just on Fluid XP+.

Why is Ultra different than the others?  There are many differences in Ultra which sets it apart from all other computer coolants out there.  We will address some of those unique differences.  There are a couple of important issues to evaluate when deciding whether to use Ultra or not, first is the issue of safety, while Ultra is as safe and non-toxic probably more than any other coolant out there, it is still not as safe as our EXTreme coolant which is mfr. with all ingredients which are recognized as “food safe” by the USFDA.

This is important to note because in order for us to make Ultra we had to use many different ingredients and compounds not found in any other computer coolant out there.  Ultra was made for the experienced water cooling pc enthusiasts which knew how to be careful with this kind of stuff.  Ultra will not hurt your skin if you get it on you, nor kill you if you ingested it, but we would not recommend you doing that.  Unlike EXTreme which has no odor, Ultra has a slight chemical odor but nothing like some of the other coolants which are out there.

Also, an important fact about Ultra is that it is Fluid XP+ which has been supplying computer coolants that are non-toxic and non-conductive since 2003.  No one else has anywhere near that track record.  We were the first and we still are the best value product out there and now with Ultra, that is even more of a fact.

In making a coolant that was designed for PC Enthusiasts we had to consider several things, one of those was to make a coolant that could be customized for the use.  Knowing who would be using it we made Ultra with very clever and unique properties which give you, the expert, flexibility of what you want to accomplish.  Having more years of seeing the results of running liquid cooled systems than anyone else we learned some very important information and that has helped in making Ultra.

We found out several interesting facts after running water cooled systems for a number of years and then looking at the data.  The first thing that we had to look at is the fact of what could we put into Ultra to make it be the coolant we wanted it to be.  Our research along with help from energy labs let us to the discovery of a unique compound that we call z7.  z7 has some very unique properties and has to be made with a unique process.

Z7’s first benefit was to address the problem we found in 100% of all evaluated liquid cooled systems.  The problem we found was no matter which system we looked at from several different manufactures of water cooling components, we found that there was always particles floating in the system and stuck to the sides, ports, crevices and cracks everywhere we examined.  After analysis, we found that many of these particles were actually metallic, rubber and plastic which led us to the conclusion of the presence of erosion.  This happens in all liquid cooled systems whether just using water or a coolant.

Because of this erosion systems were degraded and parts were faulty.  The system no longer functioned properly and the flow was greatly diminished.  So we knew that we needed to address this problem in order to make a coolant that gave the experienced overclocker and heat producer peace of mind and safety.

Here’s what happens when a solid particle hits z7, the particle becomes enveloped in a molecular cocoon causing the particle to become one with the liquid.  This then prevents particles attaching themselves to other particles found in the liquid.  So when one of these encapsulated particles now touches the side of the tube it acts as if it was liquid and just slips on by.  This is an amazing feature insomuch that independent tests have show that even after shaving particles of different metals which are found in a system, the particles don’t act like their metallic and the conductivity of Ultra does not change.  This of course gives Ultra the ability to maintain its non-conductivity longer than any other computer coolant.  This is why the government and military are so interested in Ultra for other uses as well.

Our coolants have always went under the stringent of testing, we have had our coolants tested by not one but two U.S. government accredited independent labs in which they test for non-conductivity, we are still the only computer coolant that has any scientific documentation backing up its claims.  Something that you might want to consider, when you are choosing that coolant, to run in your very expensive liquid cooled rig.

No one comes close to the research and technology we have behind our coolants and especially behind what Ultra can do.  Now the other amazing thing about Ultra is what happens after you put it into your system with different metals.  When the metal surfaces come in contact with Ultra they are covered with a barrier several molecular layers deep.  This barrier then prevents corrosion and erosion to take place and also aids in stopping galvanic corrosion or battery effect corrosion which is found in many liquid based systems.

This allows the PC Enthusiast to experiment with different products made from different types of metals without having to worry about changing their coolant all the time.  Some other coolants throw in a corrosive inhibitor which just flows around in the liquid and can even separate having zero effectiveness.  Ultra does not have that problem as the science behind it bonds all of the components of the liquid together to become as one liquid. Ultra is so unique that you can even add up to 30% distilled or deionized water and not adjust its unique properties except the freezing point.  Because of its unique properties the water will mix very easily with the coolant almost like it is absorbed by the liquid.

Ultra has a freeze point of -100 degrees but you can customize by diluting which will bring up your freeze point but better your thermal transfer.  Again, very customizable for many different situations.

Because of the unique compounds we have utilized, we have found that your colors will be much richer and last a lot longer in Ultra.

So remember, Ultra has a lot of research and proof behind it, and as all of our products we make, we back it up.  Fluid XP+ continues to show why it is the choice of more water cooled system builders than all of the rest.

That’s a very good question, there are many different coolants available to choose from so which one is right for you?  Let’s breifly go over each one so you can decide for yourself.

The top of the heap product would be Nano-Fluid, this product has it all, it’s the most non-conductive safe coolant anywhere and has been proven under ASTM as well as the fuel cell industry, in fact, the product was never intentionally made for the liquid cooled computer industry but after many requests, we made it available.  Not only is Nano the most non-conductive, it’s the only one that uses a non-ionic base ingredient which works like a glycol but is much safer.  It is one of the two products in the world (Eco-Earth is the other) which after 20,000 hours of real-time running produced NO CORROSION, every other type of glycol product tested produced corrosion, even the ones that had a corrosion inhibitor. You can see a picture on the Nano link of the website.  Pictures as they say are worth a thousand words.  The thermal transfer rate of Nano is competitive with anything else out there in its class and just like Eco-Earth it is safe for the environment and could be considered a “green” product, which no other product can make that claim and prove it.  So if your looking for the absolute highest product this is it but just like a car the Ferrari costs more than the Chevy and so it is with Nano.

Eco-Earth on the other hand is just like Nano except for one feature, it does not contain nano particles to aid in the non-conductivity.  Everything else is the same, you just will not get the longer lasting non-conductivity but you still get a non-conductive product that is better than anything else in its class.  A great Eco Friendly value.

EXTreme has been out for many years and received numerous awards, it’s thermal transfer characteristics are unmatched in performance by anything else that’s been documented so far.  Using all food based glycols which are found in items like ice cream, this product is not only safe and non-conductive for your computer but safe for everyone else.  Totally bio-degradable like all of our products this coolant has been proven to perform under extreme heat loads and never miss a beat.  So if your looking for the best overall thermal transfer product, this is the one for you.  It has been often imitated but NEVER duplicated.  A great value for the money and what it does.

EXTreme LC is just like EXTreme except it does not have as great of a non-conductivity rating BUT it will still smoke any competition out there which costs more.  This product was made for the budget minded.

Ultra with z-7 should only be used by experienced enthusiasts who want the ability to tweak a product for performance and testing.  This product comes in a concentrated form and can be dilluted up to 50% with no issues.  It has a high boiling point and a very low freezing point of -100 degrees.  This product has been used in large scale applications in other industries where they want the coolant to stay in a liquid form under adverse weather conditions.  Made also with safe propylene glycols it has a unique component called z-7 which actually suspends particles in the fluid not allowing them to gather and plug a port or tubing.  It also has a great non-conductivity rating as well.  This product is always good to use in a used system or system that may not have high quality parts which will have metals that will begin to come loose once fluid is running through it.  Just the nature of liquid running through any system causes particles to come loose over time, this is due to the abrasive nature of any fluid.  However z-7 suspends these particles and the system just keeps running.  So if you are experienced in liquid cooling, this may be the product for you.

Ultra LT is just the ready to go dilluted version of Ultra, used for someone that wants the Ultra properties but doesn’t want to do anything but pour the liquid right from the bottle.

So this should give you an idea of which product that you may want to use and all of our products are manufactured in the USA.

All of our coolants except for Ultra are pre-mixed in the bottle with all the popular uv colors ready to be used.  We have a special proprietary color bonding process which takes the color agent and bonds it to the liquid to prevent separation which will happen if you add dyes to a liquid over time.  So with all of our products, order your color of choice and just fill er up and your ready to go!
